Apple's Tim Cook Adds Engineering VPs to Executive Management Team; Mansfield to Stay

Some noteworthy management news from Apple today. The company said this afternoon that Craig Federighi, its vice president of Mac Software Engineering, and Dan Riccio, its vice president of Hardware Engineering, have joined Apple's executive management team, reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook. And in an odd, and as of yet unexplained turn of events, it said that SVP Bob Mansfield, who announced his retirement back in June, is sticking around to oversee the development of "future products." Hopefully, one of them will be a new Mac Pro. Mansfield too, will report directly to Cook.
