I think the Auto Hop feature is brilliant. It's not some attempt to tear down TV's business model, and merely improves something viewers were already enjoying with Fast Forward. I already skip over ads, so when my boss at Dish told me about this feature I was excited. Now I can watch a Prime Time DVR straight through, without having to reach for the remote every time there is a commercial break. My wife also likes being able to plow through her NCIS recordings in about half the time!
